QSAN XCube line
The QSAN units in the XCube line are powerful SAN/DAS solutions which compete with, among others, IBM, HP and Dell storage systems in the enterprise segment, and with Synology, Qnap, Thecus in the SMB segment. QSAN is the first to have a 26 bay, 2U SAN/DAS system in the market with new features like Super Capacitor cache protection, Auto Tiering, 4 host card slots (with which a system can be extended to 20x 10Gb ports).
QSAN XCubeSAN
The QSAN XCubeSAN comes in 3 variants. The QSAN XCubeSAN XS7200 is for the Enterprise market. Designed for mission critical data and instant/realtime IO repsonses, among other things. The QSAN XCubeSAN XS5200 is an Enterprise entry model, which is suitable for, among other things, virtualised environments and high-performance computing. The QSAN XCubeSAN XS3200 is a high performance unit built for the SMB market, where High Availability is important.

Available configurations

All models are available in a dual controller active-active configuration, have 2x 10GbE ISCSI (BASE-T) ports per controller as standard, expandable with up to 2 host cards with 4 10GbE iSCSI | 1GbE iSCSI | 16Gb FC. Expandable up to 450HDD/SSDs, 3.6 PB. The units are equipped with QSAN I-SCSI Offload engine. Data protection and efficiency options like snapshots, cloning, replication, SRM, thin provisioning and fast rebuild are included as standard. Auto-Tiering and SSD caching are optional (Licence).
Cache-to-Flash technology
If there is a power failure, data in the memory cache will be lost. To prevent this, the memory must be protected to ensure data integrity. The QSAN XCubeSAN series support an optional Cache-to-Flash technology with an M.2 flash module and a power module. When a power failure occurs, the cache data will be written from memory to the M.2 flash module using the power stored in the power module. The power module can be a traditional BBM module or a Super capacitor module. Super capacitors are environmentally friendly, require no maintenance and are more resistant to temperature variations. Both the flash module and the power module can be replaced hot swappable without downtime.

QSAN XCubeDAS
The XCubeDAS systems are advanced JBOD units with Broadcom (Avago/LSI) 12Gb SAS Processor, which can be used as extension for the QSAN XCubeSAN solutions, as well as standalone JBOD systems. The XCubeDAS XD5300 dual or single controller JBOD disposes of 5x 12Gb SAS ports. The JBOD can process a maximum of 4 million IOPS. The XCubeDAS XD5300 is compatible with a.o. Windows Server 2008/2012; Storage Spaces; RHEL/SuSE/Linux; Solaris, VMware, Citrix, Broadcom(Avago/LSI), Microsemi(Adaptec), & ATTO RAID Cards & HBA. Within the XCubeDAS unit up to 5 zones can be configured. The ports can be configured as 5 IN, 3 IN 2 OUT, 4 IN and 1 OUT.

Available formats
The QSAN XCubeSAN and XCubeDAS units are available in the following sizes: LFF 2U 12 Bays, 3U 16 Bays, 4U 24 Bays, SFF: 2U 26 Bays.
QSAN Xcube redundant and modular design
The QSAN XCubeSAN and XCubeDAS systems have an extremely modular structure. Everything is redundant to exclude single point of failure and to guarantee high uptimes. Due to its dual active controller design, firmware updates can be carried out without downtime. All components can be inserted from the front and back of the unit and are connected without cables. They plug directly into the backplane through connectors. (The only thing that needs to be removed is to replace a backplane). Due to this cable-free design, the units comply with the most stringent requirements.
Support for the QSAN XCubeSAN and XCubeDAS units
QSAN provides lifetime 24×7 remote support, remote setup support and free technical training. In addition, various support contracts are available, including 4-hour onsite services, 24×7. The term of these contracts is 1, 3 or 5 years.
Deal registration
Do you have a project where QSAN storage systems can be used? Then request a deal registration as soon as possible to be eligible for project prices. The rule is, first come first serve. Only the first request will be considered for project prices.
